Oh now I get it….

Oh now I get it….
Parents just don’t get how hard it is for ‘children’ these days:
When their cell-phone isn’t working
When they don’t have a ride somewhere or a car they want
When they don’t have the popular clothing line
When they don’t have internet working
When they don’t have the most popular electronic device
When they don’t have anything to eat because it’s not what they want and/or cooked
When they can’t do or get something because they haven’t done what they’re suppose to do

Children just don’t understand how easy they have it today
Having a cell phone is a privilege;
Having a car of your own is a privilege and using the feet God gave you is a blessing only some others would love to have;
Having clothes on your body is a blessing;
Having internet is a privilege;
Having electronic devices are a privilege;
Having something to eat is a blessing whether it’s something you like or not; there are starving people in this world who would give to have what you have;
Getting something or being able to do something you want should be the reward for something that you have done or worked hard for…not because you feel entitled

Does there have to be a reason or is “Just Because” enough?

Just Because

The Little Things

No reason needed

Yesterday while at work I received a text message from my boyfriend that said “Ummm… stay in your courtroom k babe!” (I work as a clerk in the courtroom in case you may be wondering). I sat there and thought it weird because it was his day off and had mentioned staying home and working on his car. I went out on a limb and replied that if he was coming up to the courtroom to knock on the door as it may be locked”. About two minutes later he called and said he wanted to surprise me by coming up to my courtroom and walking me out and take me to lunch. He ran a little late to actually come to my courtroom so he asks me to meet in the circle driveway outside and he and our son were going to take me to lunch. We went for pizza, which was also weird because I was actually craving pizza! (Great minds think alike!). When I got in the car our son says, “Mommy look we bought you flowers”…

After lunch was over I was taken back to work and both my boyfriend and son walked me to the courtroom and were able to meet the deputy and judge that work for. We chatted for a while and then it was time for them to go. My boss and I spoke for a little while and upon seeing the roses on my desk, he asked me “Roses, is it your anniversary?”. I replied that it was not and it was just because. As the day went on the roses filled the courtroom with a beautiful scent. It brought life into the courtroom.

As I left for the day to start my weekend, a few of my co-workers, upon seeing me carry my roses, asked if it was my birthday, anniversary or what the special occasion was. When I replied that it was “Just Because”, I received a lot of “Aww how sweet” comments and “He’s a keeper”. One thought that came to mind was “Doesn’t anybody else do this?” It must be rare because just the day before, I delivered a single red rose to my boyfriend at his work before he arrived. When his co-workers asked who the rose was for and my boyfriend replied that it was his, one of his co-worker’s asked who it was from, of course he replied it was from me. She thought it was the weirdest thing and asked if guys really liked that sort’ve thing. My boyfriend replied along the lines of, yes but it’s not necessarily the rose, it’s the thought behind it. He went on to explain to her that she probably wouldn’t understand it unless she were in a relationship such as ours. It’s those little things that keep a relationship alive and shows the other person that they are not being taken for granted.

I am fortunate to have such a soul mate, just as he has told me he is just as fortunate to have me as his soul mate. It’s the little things that keep us going and strong.

There doesn’t have to be a reason for such an event to occur, but simply an appreciation for the other person. Take the time to do the little things….because it’s those little things that count and will probably be the most remembered.

I am blessed beyond words with the relationship I have and can’t be more grateful.

We all start off small like flowers but can blossom into a beautiful person inside and out

People and flowers are very much alike:

We begin small and grow and blossom to be beautiful inside and out. With all the proper tools and love, we can continue to grow within and make the world a better place.

Like the flower below: This is how we begin:

Where we all begin

This is how we grow & spread our wings:

This is how we grow and blossom

This is what we can blossom into:

To this beauty

The Internet

1. Have you ever met anyone online before meeting them in person? I have, indeed. As a matter of fact, I met my boyfriend online 5 years ago. We started chatting online in January but we didn’t meet face to face until April. Best thing that ever happened to me.

2. What is your opinion on social media’s impact on our society? Does it make life better or worse? I think it has it’s good and bad points.

3. Do you believe that it’s possible to fall in love with someone that you’ve never met in person? I don’t think so but I am no expert.

4. Do you prefer to shop in stores or online? I enjoy both but finding out more lately that I don’t like the crowds shopping so online is playing a big role in my shopping.

5. What blogging platform do you use? (WordPress, Blogger, something else?) I’ve only used WordPress but have seen other platforms

6. Have you ever blogged for another site? Would you? I’ve written blog posts for fellow bloggers and for sites like Sparkpeople.com.

7. Do you use services like Netflix and Hulu? Currently I don’t but have used Netflix in the past.

8. Would you prefer to get blog comments or to interact on twitter? I like blog comments. I don’t twitter

9. Do you prefer to read books or e-books? I would prefer to read books than e-books

10. Share at least one experience that you would not have had without being a blog author. I haven’t been on WordPress long at all, but, meeting and reading other people’s thoughts and life experiences is great.

Now it’s your turn to answer this week’s questions. Don’t forget to come back and link up in the comments, and say hi to someone new this week. Happy Monday!!!

Quote of the day

I have never really thought about the struggles in my life making me the person I am today…but looking back now, I can certainly see just how each and every single struggle has helped me to grow as a person. I know I complained about all the struggles and I had, but I am thankful that I did go through them, because I am the strong person I am today because of them.
