I believe this photograph was taken about a year ago. I think it’s beautiful and calms the soul. (As you can tell it’s one of my favorites since I used it in my “About Me” profile. Have an awesome Sunday and week. Remember to stop and smell the roses!!!
Yesterday while at work I received a text message from my boyfriend that said “Ummm… stay in your courtroom k babe!” (I work as a clerk in the courtroom in case you may be wondering). I sat there and thought it weird because it was his day off and had mentioned staying home and working on his car. I went out on a limb and replied that if he was coming up to the courtroom to knock on the door as it may be locked”. About two minutes later he called and said he wanted to surprise me by coming up to my courtroom and walking me out and take me to lunch. He ran a little late to actually come to my courtroom so he asks me to meet in the circle driveway outside and he and our son were going to take me to lunch. We went for pizza, which was also weird because I was actually craving pizza! (Great minds think alike!). When I got in the car our son says, “Mommy look we bought you flowers”…
After lunch was over I was taken back to work and both my boyfriend and son walked me to the courtroom and were able to meet the deputy and judge that work for. We chatted for a while and then it was time for them to go. My boss and I spoke for a little while and upon seeing the roses on my desk, he asked me “Roses, is it your anniversary?”. I replied that it was not and it was just because. As the day went on the roses filled the courtroom with a beautiful scent. It brought life into the courtroom.
As I left for the day to start my weekend, a few of my co-workers, upon seeing me carry my roses, asked if it was my birthday, anniversary or what the special occasion was. When I replied that it was “Just Because”, I received a lot of “Aww how sweet” comments and “He’s a keeper”. One thought that came to mind was “Doesn’t anybody else do this?” It must be rare because just the day before, I delivered a single red rose to my boyfriend at his work before he arrived. When his co-workers asked who the rose was for and my boyfriend replied that it was his, one of his co-worker’s asked who it was from, of course he replied it was from me. She thought it was the weirdest thing and asked if guys really liked that sort’ve thing. My boyfriend replied along the lines of, yes but it’s not necessarily the rose, it’s the thought behind it. He went on to explain to her that she probably wouldn’t understand it unless she were in a relationship such as ours. It’s those little things that keep a relationship alive and shows the other person that they are not being taken for granted.
I am fortunate to have such a soul mate, just as he has told me he is just as fortunate to have me as his soul mate. It’s the little things that keep us going and strong.
There doesn’t have to be a reason for such an event to occur, but simply an appreciation for the other person. Take the time to do the little things….because it’s those little things that count and will probably be the most remembered.
I am blessed beyond words with the relationship I have and can’t be more grateful.
My contribution to the weekly photo challenge of the week is one I’m particularly proud of and would love to share. You see, it doesn’t really involve morning coffee (although coffee is a HUGE part of morning), or my early morning ride to get to work at 7 stopping off to get a picture of a beautiful sunrise… my “Good Morning”…. consists of waking up to this beautiful blessing….my 3 year old little boy!!
I have 4 kids (3 girls (20-17-15) and my little boy 3– they are all my blessings and I wouldn’t change that for the world even with all the trials and tribulations that we have gone through. But waking up next to this precious little angel every morning…is a feeling that I can’t describe. There’s just a bond that is beyond words. Maybe it’s because he’s my only boy and the baby at that, I don’t really know and can’t explain.
Happy Friday everyone and have a great weekend!!
So I was wondering how I could contribute my thoughts regarding this week’s photo challenge, saturated. Well, I happened to be at Lowe’s on Sunday and lo and behold, here’s what I find– who would’ve known Duct Tape came in so many colors??
This weekly photo challenge has become more and more fun for me each week, so I continued my search. Today as I’m sitting in my room, I run across these bendable flowers:
Anyway, I hope you enjoy!!!
After finishing lunch yesterday with my kids we decided to walk around the harbor for a little bit. One of my daughters is taking a photography class at school so she started using her ipod to get some photos. I followed behind her using my own Samsung phone, here is what I got a glimpse of.
Its the little things like this that I miss everyday!!
Driving to work today, I saw the beautiful sun rise. If my daughter didn’t have a zero period class, meaning she has to be at school by 7 a.m.; I would miss this altogether!
How many of us take for granted the beauty in every day things such as this? I’m guilty.
We all get wrapped up in our busy lives that we forget to really stop and smell the roses and appreciate what’s in front of us.
Even though I don’t work until 8 a.m. I would typically just go in right after dropping my daughter of at school. Today, I decided not to rush in and stopped to capture these images. They may not be professional, but none the less, they are beautiful.
I challenge you all to “Stop & smell the roses”.
Have an awesome day!!
People and flowers are very much alike:
We begin small and grow and blossom to be beautiful inside and out. With all the proper tools and love, we can continue to grow within and make the world a better place.
